Bureau for Rights Based Development (BRD) helps tackle poverty and develop sustainable livelihoods in Afghanistan’s most vulnerable communities.
The Bureau for Rights Based Development (BRD) was established in 2002. We are a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered in both Afghanistan and Sweden. The rights-based approach to poverty eradication and economic development is the heart of BRD’s work since its inception. BRD aims to encourage (we want to inspire) and support people to switch from a passive role to an active role of right holders, taking responsibility for their own development.
The organization has implemented dozens of programs on Afghanistan ground. In Sweden, BRD has engaged in policy advocacy for the needs of the Afghan population of humanitarian assistance and the rights of refugees on UE level. All the projects are focused on BRD’s strategic goals which are:
